EAA Scholarship Opportunities!!

Now accepting applications for Fall 2011-Spring 2012 EAA Scholarships (Deadline 3/18/2011):

Happy New Year!   The Engineering Alumni Association (EAA) will provide a total of five (5) scholarships ($2,000 each) to eligible University of Houston Engineering students for the Fall 2011-Spring 2012 academic year.  The applicant must be declared as an engineering major at the University of Houston when applying and also the semesters of the award. The scholarships are open to current Cullen College of Engineering students, and the specific criteria listed below:   

 

1.    EAA Outstanding Engineering Student Scholarship - $2000    ($1,000 per semester)         

1.      - Standard criteria: engineering major, 30 hrs at UH, 12 hrs/semester of award, citizen or permanent resident

2.      - Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0 with a minimum major GPA of 3.0

3.      - Junior or Senior classification

4.      - Well-rounded student

5.      - Outstanding contributions in engineering-related activities (on/off campus)

6.      - Outstanding leadership in UH student engineering societies

       
       
2.  EAA Future Engineer Scholarship - $2000    ($1,000 per semester)                                   

- Standard criteria: engineering major, 30 hrs at UH, 12 hrs/semester of award, citizen or permanent resident

- Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0 with a minimum major GPA of 3.0

- Any classification (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Post Baccalaureate pursuing BS)

- Active involvement in UH student engineering societies

- Community involvement

       
The completed EAA Scholarship Application must be submitted via email to EAA Board Member and Scholarship Chair May Shek (may.shek@shell.com) by March 18, 2011.
