Civil Reunion

Hey Students:

We need student volunteers to help with the CIVIL ALUMNI REUNION.

We are not asking you to volunteer the entire night, just a couple
hours out of the night.

We need nine (9) more students to help set up at 4 p.m. then you can shower
there at the CRWC in the locker rooms and come out and enjoy the rest of the
evening.

We need seven (7) more students to help at registration from 6 to 8 p.m.

We need five (5) more students to help during the mixer from 6 to 8 pm.

We need nineteen (19) more students to help during the casino night from 8
p.m. to 1 a.m. The nineteen more students we need will be broken up into
multiple groups such as:
* Transition team from mixer to casino room (15 to 30 minutes maximum)
* Auction team from 10 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
* Bar attendants (shifts from 8 to 9 p.m., 9 to 10 p.m., and 10 to 11
p.m.)
* Clean up from 12 to 1 a.m.

As you can see this schedule leaves plenty of time for you to have fun.
Also, remember we will be offering a scholarship to one of the volunteers
and you will not be eligible unless you volunteer.

We would greatly appreciate you helping us make this event the great success
it can be by volunteering a little of your time. Please either email me back
or Mariel Sturm or Ana Chavarria and let us know that you are willing to
help us and where. Or you can go on-line to

Greetings,

I will be conducting an information session on Wednesday, October 5th, 6 p.m. at the Bauer Rockwell Career Center. Also, I will be at the Internship Fair from 1-4. Below is a quick summary about our program.

Since 1980 SEO has provided underrepresented students of color with summer internships leading to full-time jobs. More than 30 years later, Blacks, Hispanics, and Native Americans are still underrepresented in many top entry level jobs.

· Exposure to CEOs and top executives of SEO partners through the SEO Summer Seminar Series and CEO/CFO roundtables

· 100+ of extensive training before and during the internship

· A mentoring program which includes an SEO mentor, firm mentor and alumni mentor

· Entrance into a powerful alumni network comprised of over 5,000 alumni representing 46 states and 47 countries

International students who have CPT or OPT authorization to work in the United States are eligible to apply but limited opportunities are available. Temp. student intern opportunity

My name is Josh Soble and I’m with The Solar Foundation in Washington DC. I’m writing to see if any of your students involved in UH’s Energy Research Park might be interested in attending the Solar Power International conference in Dallas from October 17-20. My boss, Andrea Luecke, will need an assistant at the event and, in exchange, the temporary intern will have full access to the event. I thought you might know a student who might be interested or be able to connect me with someone who might. The student will ideally be in Dallas as we are unable to pay for transportation or housing.

More information on the conference can be found here: http://www.solarpowerinternational.com/2011/public/enter.aspx
Please let me know if you have any questions and feel free to forward this email on to others who might be interested!

Best,

Joshua Soble
