Metallurgical EngineerFlexSteel Pipeline Technologies is currently interviewing for an experienced Metallurgical Engineer to provide technical support related to materials necessary to meet engineering needs. Must have full understanding of metallurgical manufacturing, forging and heat-treating processes as well as basic knowledge of welding/corrosion processes and materials selection for corrosive service. Interface with the supplier’s technical representatives in the development and application of materials to verify the properties. Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, industry standards or governmental regulations including NACE, API, ASTM and ASME Pressure Vessel Code. Prepare documents illustrating conformance of materials to technical procedures, industry standards or governmental regulations. Participate and support trade shows, conferences exhibits and seminars. Occasional travel to customers and suppliers. Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering with 3-7 years experience. Must be familiar with ISO, API, ASTM and NACE standards applicable to materials used in oil and gas industry. Familiar with NDE methods and interpretation highly desirable. Subsea EngineerFlexSteel Pipeline Technologies is currently hiring experienced Subsea Engineers to review product design for compliance with engineering principles, applicable standards (ISO, API and ANSI), contract requirements and related specifications. Identify qualification tests and analyses in accordance with API 17J to include but not limited to: Cathodic protection system requirements for subsea flowlines, Subsea performance of venting system, upheaval buckling, abrasion protection, marine growth, long term collapse resistance. Design, develop and implement specialty equipment. Produce engineering reports and other documents in accordance with company procedures. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil (Structural) Engineering with 5+ years related experience working for subsea engineering company or similarly related flexible pipeline engineering company highly preferred. Strong MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) required. ANSYS, ABAQUS, OffPipe, SolidWorks and MathCAD highly desirable. This position is based at the corporate offices in west Houston.
