Google SHPE Conference Travel Scholarship Award
As part of Google's on-going commitment to diversity and education in computing and technology, we are pleased to announce the Google Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) Conference and Travel Scholarship. At Google, we are enthusiastic about supporting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education for all students, particularly those who represent a broad range of cultures and backgrounds.
The Scholarship is open to all qualified undergraduate and graduate students. Recipients will be chosen from the applicant pool. Each selected student will receive up to $1,200 USD for airfare, hotel, conference registration and other travel requirements, which will be managed by SHPE National.
A Completed Google Scholarship Form and supporting items must be received by Saturday, September 15th (Midnight PST) to be eligible for scholarship consideration.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENT
· Enrolled full-time in their undergraduate or graduate study at a university in North America - In Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Applied Networking, Systems Administration, Informatics, Network Security or related technical field major
· Maintaining a strong academic background with demonstrated leadership ability
· Able to attend 2+ days of the conference
HOW TO APPLY
To apply for the Google SHPE Conference Travel Scholarship, please complete the following Google Scholarship Form by Saturday, September 15th (Midnight PST):

The form must be completed, and include:
· Copy of your resume - with leadership, work, education, and technical accomplishments included
· Copy of your transcripts (Bachelor's, Master's and PhD, if applicable) – Unofficial Transcript Accepted
· A Short essay (no more than 500 words) about why you wish to attend the conference and why attending it is important to your research, work and/or future career. Essay should be submitted via the Google Scholarship Form Below
Scholarship recipients will be notified by Monday, October 1, 2012. SHPE will arrange and pay for scholarship recipient's airfare, shared hotel room and registration for the SHPE Conference. SHPE will NOT reimburse scholarship recipients for conference related travel expenses purchased prior to the October 1, 2012 notification date.
